Henderson Middle School offers many opportunities for participation in extracurricular activities. Students have the opportunity to participate in sports, dance , art programs, tutoring , mentoring groups  and more. The mission of Delta Academy is “catching the dreams of tomorrow, preparing young women for success in the world in which they live.” To these goals, Delta Academy provides opportunities for middle school girls to gain a better understanding and appreciation for math, science and technology as well as gain leadership skills that will help them to become productive and successful women in the future. The young ladies of Delta Academy participate in activities such as self-esteem and etiquette workshops, field trips for science experiences, community service projects, and other programs that stimulate leadership, sisterhood, and academic achievement.  Sponsored and supported by the Richmond Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma ThetaSorority, Inc.,Delta Academy runs from October through May


The Henderson Middle School Basketball Teams provide the opportunity for students to compete and improve their skill level with quality coaching and supervision. Emphasis is placed on the importance of developing the student/athlete academic performance and sportsmanship behaviors. The season takes place during the fall and winter months.

Practice is held Monday-Thursday between hours 3:00 pm-4:30 pm ( Transportation is provided)
Games are placed on Tuesdays and Thursdays between hours 3:00 pm -4:30 pm (Transportation is provided)

All student athletes must maintain a 2.0 GPA , display good sportsmanship and follow the guidelines as stated in the School Code of Conduct.

The Henderson Warriors Cheerleading Squad seeks to promote leadership and sportsmanship while encouraging academic excellence and achievement among its members. The squad is an important force for school spirit  while performing at Girls and Boys Basketball games. The squad also promotes school spirit school events such as, the 6th grade Orientation Program. Tryouts for the squad are held at the beginning of the school year. Exact dates will be announced.
