The Purchasing Division consist of a Director of Procurement and Control, one (1) Sr. Purchasing Officer, and three(3) Purchasing Officers whose responsibilities include the procurement of all materials, equipment, supplies and services necessary for efficient operation of the school system; a Purchasing/Warehouse Specialist who is responsible for assisting Purchasing and Warehouse with procurement related tasks on a daily basis, an Administrative Office Associate who performs administrative support tasks for the Supervisor of Purchasing and subordinate divisions as required; and an Office Associate who assist the Division with support tasks on a daily basis.
The major duties of the Division are to develop and coordinate a complete centralized purchasing and distribution program for schools and departments of Richmond Public Schools; to formulate the basic policies and procedures to be use in exercising procurement functions; and to administer the School Board's and State's and Federal surplus property program.
