What Is Open Enrollment?
Open Enrollment is a process that allows parents of students in Richmond Public Schools the opportunity to request up to two schools which are "out-of-zone". The term "out-of-zone" refers to a school located outside of the school zone where the student resides. Richmond City Public Schools does not provide transportation for any student who participates in Open Enrollment (Out-of-Zone Request).
Who Can Request Open Enrollment?
Any parent or guardian interested in having their child attend an "out-of-zone" school for the 2015-2016 School Year who is a Richmond City resident.
How do I Request Open Enrollment?
Open enrollment applications and guidelines can be obtained at the Richmond Public Schools website richmond.k12.va.us/oe or from The Office of Pupil Personnel Services located at City Hall 301 North Ninth Street, Richmond, VA 23219.

The window for Open Enrollment is January 20, 2015 and ends February 13, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. During those dates, fill out the Open Enrollment forms online.
Students currently attending an "out of zone" school must complete the Intent to Return form and submit the form to the Office of Pupil Personnel Services between January 8, 2015 and January 20, 2015 at 4:30
Intent to Return forms and guidelines can be obtained at the Richmond Public Schools website richmond.k12.va.us/itr .Any siblings who wish to attend the same school must list their name on the Intent to Return form. Faxing documents is prohibited.
